Privacy policy

One policy for everything S-Curve Labs publishes: Power BI visuals, MCP servers, browser tools and this website. Each product family has its own section, because each handles data differently.

1Summary

Our tools run where your data already is: inside Power BI, on your own computer, or in your browser tab. They don't send your data to us, they collect no telemetry, and we never see your files, models, schedules or reports.

The only personal information we receive is what you choose to send us (a support email, for example) and the contact details Microsoft passes on when you get one of our Power BI visuals from AppSource.

2Power BI visuals

This covers every S-Curve Labs custom visual on Microsoft AppSource, free or paid, certified or not.

  • Your report data stays in Power BI. A visual receives only the fields you bind to it, draws them in Power BI Desktop or your browser, and keeps nothing once the report closes.
  • No network access. The visuals make no internet requests. They don't ask Power BI for the "Web access" privilege, so Power BI's sandbox would block a request even if one were attempted.
  • No local storage, cookies or tracking. The visuals ask for no storage privilege and contain no analytics, telemetry, advertising or third-party scripts.
  • Settings live in your report. Format-pane choices and saved view states (collapsed rows, for example) are stored in the report by Power BI, under your organization's control.
  • No file export. The visuals don't download or export files. Power BI's own export features follow your Power BI settings and Microsoft's terms.
  • Paid visuals. Microsoft handles purchases and licenses. A paid visual asks Power BI, through its licensing API, whether the viewer holds a license, and uses the answer only to turn features on or off at that moment. The answer is not stored or sent to us.

3MCP servers

This covers dax-quax, letin, sqlglass, longpath, fxray and any later server in the series.

  • They run on your machine. Your AI assistant starts the server as a local process and talks to it over stdio. There is no S-Curve Labs service behind it and no account.
  • They connect only to what you point them at: your own files, Power BI Desktop or Excel on your computer, your SQL Server, or your Power Platform environment through Microsoft's Power Platform CLI. That traffic goes between your machine and your systems, never to us.
  • No telemetry. The servers don't report usage, errors or anything else.
  • Your assistant sees the results. Whatever a tool returns goes to the AI assistant that called it, and the assistant may send it to its model provider. That is governed by your assistant's and provider's terms, not ours, so check them before using these servers on confidential data.
  • One download. dax-quax install-runtime downloads Microsoft's Analysis Services client libraries from nuget.org. It sends nothing about you or your models.
  • Installation. Installing from PyPI is covered by PyPI's own privacy policy.

4Browser tools

Some S-Curve Labs tools are single web pages, such as file viewers and converters. They read the file you choose inside your browser tab. Nothing is uploaded, and the page makes no network requests once loaded. Closing the tab discards the file.

5This website

  • No cookies, advertising or tracking scripts. Nothing runs in your browser to measure you.
  • We count page views on our server, in aggregate. For each page view we record the page, the website that linked to it (its domain only), your country, whether you're on a phone or a computer, and a campaign tag if the link had one. We don't record your IP address, your full browser details or any identifier, so we can't recognize you, connect one visit to another or follow you to other sites. We use the counts only to see which pages people read and how they find us. After three months the individual page-view records are deleted; we keep only daily totals (for example, "12 views of the Help page from Canada on 3 March").
  • Fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when you visit. See Google's privacy policy.
  • The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which may keep standard request logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and reliability. We don't use them to identify visitors.

6What we receive and why

  • From Microsoft, for Power BI visuals. When you acquire or trial a visual on AppSource, Microsoft may share the contact details you gave it (name, email, company, country) with us as a publisher lead. We use them only to support you and to tell you about the visual you acquired.
  • When you contact us. We keep emails and support requests so we can answer them.

We don't sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us answer support requests, or when the law requires it.

7Your choices

Email info@s-curvelabs.com to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or to stop hearing from us. We answer within 30 days. You can also manage what Microsoft shares through your Microsoft account.

8Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. We won't make any tool collect your data without a new version and a clear notice on its listing.
